Short description
This paper reports on a sensor configuration based on Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) technology for measurement of multi-axial stresses or strains in thermo hardened composite elements. In the sensor configuration, multi-axial FBG’s (written in Polarization Maintaining fibers) are used which allow not only measuring of axial stress but also the effects of transverse stress. Some preliminary results of this sensor configuration are presented.
